Case Study: Luxury Primary Suite Renovation in Sicklerville, NJ

This project was a luxury primary suite renovation completed in Sicklerville, New Jersey for returning clients working with Next Level Remodeling on the second phase of their home updates. The design-build scope included the primary bedroom, a custom closet conversion, the master bathroom, select new flooring, and the interior staircase. The goal was to create a calm, functional retreat that felt cohesive, warm, and aligned with how the homeowners live day to day. The design incorporates custom built furnishings and architectural elements created specifically for the suite.

The homeowners wanted to improve the flow of the bedroom and make better use of an underutilized sitting area. The original layout felt inefficient and visually unbalanced. The NLR design-build team reconfigured the space to clarify circulation and purpose while maintaining an open, refined feel.

Engineered hardwood flooring from Lauzon was installed across the entire second floor to create continuity between spaces. This flooring became the foundation for the interior design and helped visually connect the bedroom, closet, bathroom entry, and circulation areas with warmth and consistency.

To resolve the bedroom layout, custom architectural partitions made of glass and metal with wood trim were added. These elements define zones within the room while maintaining openness and visual flow. Several furnishings within the space, including the bed frame, sitting chair, and bench, were custom designed and built to create a cohesive, tailored aesthetic for this Sicklerville home.

The master bathroom was completely redesigned from the ground up to feel like a private, spa-inspired retreat. The new bathroom layout includes a curbless enclosed shower and radiant heated floors, including within the shower itself.

TileBar Bronx Argent Silver Matte porcelain tile was used on the floor, while the Wabi Sabi River Blue herringbone tile adds movement and texture to the walls. High-end Brizo plumbing fixtures and a Jacuzzi Bria air tub were selected for comfort and performance. Lighting from Regina Andrew and Hudson Valley Lighting was incorporated to create a soft, relaxing atmosphere.

The staircase connecting the first and second floors was updated to improve brightness and flow throughout the Sicklerville home. White oak railings and new balusters were installed, along with a Phenix Mykonos runner by Mannington Floors. The darker finishes helped visually connect the levels and bring warmth to the transition between floors.

The completed primary suite reflects a thoughtful design-build approach focused on functionality, comfort, and continuity. By reworking the layout, introducing custom built elements, and refining architectural details, the Sicklerville renovation created a cohesive second floor that supports everyday living while feeling calm and intentional.
